About Caffeine Fix NZ Ltd
The purpose of this site is to provide coffee-lovers with a choice of premium blends, all in one location, and with the click of a mouse from home or office.
This site was dreamed up by its two directors, Jay Algabre and Llewellyn White, who themselves are almost fanatical about the coffee they ‘knock back.’ The Caffeine Fix site does not claim to be an expert in the coffee industry. It is designed to allow people who love their coffee and who know their blend and brand to access a site where they can purchase their favourite ‘fix’ with ease: On-line and delivered to their door. We hope you enjoy the experience this site was designed for, and receive pleasure from your daily ‘caffeine fix.’ Feel free to email us with queries or suggestions!

My passion for coffee started like most people, being offered it. Mine were from business meetings. I had no idea what the difference between a flat white, mocha, cappuccino and a latte was, they all tasted the same to me. But the more I drank, the more I noticed the subtle differences between beans; the aroma, the flavour, the texture. Soon it became a tradition to find the next best café, to see what kind of beans and or blend they use. Then like most people, I had my favourite haunts which my friends would spot me frequenting. It soon became a necessity to have a barista-made coffee at home, hence the addition of an espresso machine and a coffee grinder to the already growing mound of kitchen must-haves. But I have to say, the espresso machine and grinder were definitely the most used appliances in the home. From having the first cup in the morning, to a few more cups during the day, right up to the time before retiring to bed and the need to relax... I’m sure I’m not alone in this. And the social ritual: When friends come over, I enjoy making everyone a cup of coffee just after dessert. The process of making a cup of coffee and everybody else enjoying it gave me such a thrill. I even got to the point of creating patterns as I pour the hot jug of milk into the espresso cup. I found that from time to time, I’d forget to buy more beans and had to go without coffee for the day, or you’d go to one of your favourite cafes and they’d run out of the beans you wanted. Running around in the busy Auckland traffic just to get coffee beans, certainly did not go down too well when I had to do it. Hence.... after a cup of coffee one day with Llewellyn White (a close personal friend and who had the same issue as me) we decided to create this site. Well, my route to coffee is certainly all my own. It wasn’t till Jay asked me to put something together like this that I’ve ever thought about it at all. Deer culling, Possum trapping, Gold mining, Quarantining, Animal control, Hiking, Photography, Voluntary work around the Pacific……Plumbing, Thermal imaging, and more. Where did it start? I really don’t know. I do know however, that when you have an appetite for life and an insatiable curiosity, you can’t escape coffee. Life just isn’t long enough (yet) to fit in all the things I want to do. I want to go see the Crab Nebula one day, and right now am planning how to live long enough to do it. This requires coffee…good coffee. How would you like to go to Mars with a jar of ‘instant?’ Serve you right wouldn’t it! I have no disagreement with people who prefer instant….I don’t know any of them. There are others like Jay and I out there: If I’m going to drink coffee, it’s going to be worth it. It will add to life not detract from it. It will tell my guests that I care about their tastes, rather than perform surgery on them.
